Managed to fit two thick HDMI cables, an optical audio cable, ethernet cable and some speaker cable through it without a problem. This is a good idea in principle, but I think due to electrical codes, they consciously designed it so that it cannot be used with a standard junction/gang box without modification and of course, there is no seal.
