Color Temperature - A scale used to refer to the visible energy system of various light sources. The scale uses degrees Kelvin as a measure of the mixture on a scale from red to blue white. Daylight = 5500 Kelvin, a blue-white color. The Tungsten in a light bulb produces about 3200 Kelvin, an orange color.
Direct Track/Disc Access (Direct Play/Program) - This feature allows you to listen to the track or CD of your choice without having to scroll through all the CD's tracks.
Extended Data Service (XDS) - Allows broadcasters to insert reference information in their signals such as time/date and channel reference.
PVP-UAB - Protected Video Path User-Accessible Bus. Encrypts video content as it passes over the PCI Express bus from the high-def disc to prevent other PCI Express devices from intercepting the video stream.
Pentaprism - The prism that sits on the top of most SLRs. The pentaprism transmits the light reflected upward by the camera's mirror into the camera's eyepiece.
Special Effects - Unusual sounds that are contained in a program's soundtrack.
Surround Sound Processor/Amp - Usually includes power amplification for the one centre speaker and two surround speakers in a home theatre system.
Sync - To synchronize the data between a handheld device and a laptop or desktop computer.
Time Division Multiple Access - A method of digital wireless communications transmission that allows a large number of users to access (in sequence) a single radio frequency channel without interference by allocating unique time slots to each user within each channel.
