Animation - Allows you to show objects by shooting one image at a time. When video is played back, objects appear to move on their own.
Automatic Exposure (AE) - Selects the fastest shutter speed for your camera according to the amount of light available.
Density - The degree of opacity of a photographic film.
Extended Zoom - Extended zoom digital cameras offer 8x optical zoom or greater, providing far more telephoto power than most other digital cameras (the average digital camera offers 3- or 4x optical zoom). On most digital cameras, a 10x optical zoom is approximately the equivalent of a 380mm lens.
High Speed Shutter - Allows for a sharper picture of a recorded action when played back. Events recorded with a high speed shutter can be paused or played in slow motion with no visual blur. When using a faster shutter speed, more light is required.
Nuvis - Nikon's brand name for their APS products.
RSA - Rural Service Area. After initial cellular operating licences were awarded for operating within MSA's, the FCC divided the remaining counties within each state in to Rural Service Areas. We won't say that this was done randomly, but we could make a case for it.
Resolution - A measure of how closely packed the dots in a bitmapped image are, often expressed in dots per inch (dpi) or lines per inch (lpi). The higher the number, the higher the quality. However, doubling the resolution of an image results in a computer file four times as large, requiring more hard disk space and computer memory to handle the higher quality image. Resolution is also used to describe how close together a computer printer can print dots in an image. Again, the larger the number, the higher the quality. It is important to know the capability of the printer's resolution before scanning an image in order to get enough information to print the best quality.
Time Division Multiple Access - A method of digital wireless communications transmission that allows a large number of users to access (in sequence) a single radio frequency channel without interference by allocating unique time slots to each user within each channel.
